Apple to Make App Store Changes to Avoid EU Fines
Apple made changes to its App Store policies to comply with the European Union’s Digital Markets Act.
Eutelsat signed a ten-year deal with the French government to provide its military with connectivity services. The French armed forces would have priority on their OneWeb low-Earth orbit (LEO) constellation.
Eutelsat stated the agreement is valued at €1 billion, with the company supplying its space resources, hosting ancillary missions for the French armed forces, and providing operational and security maintenance. The agreement also covers upgrading and securing the constellation for military-grade use.
Eutelsat explained the tie-up reaffirms its commitment to Europe’s Infrastructure for Resilience, Interconnectivity, and Security by Satellite (IRIS2), a multi-orbit internet constellation backed by the European Union. It further provides a boost to the NEXUS program launched by France’s Ministry of Defence, reinforcing the current French military space communications model of combining military and civilian resources.
