50 Years of Intel 8080, the Chip that Changed Computing World
One of the most important products in tech history, the Intel 8080, was introduced 50 years ago.
MediaTek introduced its fourth-generation flagship chipset Dimensity 9400. It is designed to support high-performance smartphone applications, including the latest GenAI capabilities.
The company claims the Dimensity 9400 is optimized for edge-AI applications, immersive gaming, and high-grade photography while being more power efficient than previous chips. MediaTek says it provides 35% faster single-core performance, 28% faster multi-core performance, and is 40% more power efficient than its previous generation flagship chipset.
As for genAI capabilities, MediaTek noted the chipset supports up to 80% faster large language model prompt performance. It also integrates MediaTek’s AI engine, which is designed to support device makers or developers in building AI agents. MediaTek president Joe Chen said the release builds on their momentum of steady growth in market share, and the company’s legacy of delivering flagship performance in the most efficient design.
